In complex organizations, inefficiencies result when multiple stakeholders share software that was not designed for their specific needs. In an effort to make work processes more efficient, I was tasked with centralizing legacy tools used to support four different products across multiple business units.
We began by interviewing stakeholders to understand what tools they needed and what challenges they faced to fulfill their daily tasks. As Lead UX Strategist, I lead the design team through multiple design exercises to understand and document complex sets of integrations needed optimize work processes. With this information, I worked on a cross-functional team to develop project requirements and set priorities.
The first iteration of this administrative portal, which launches soon, will centralize tools and streamlines processes across multiple business units to increase efficiency.
User-centered strategy and design has been critical to this project from the beginning. My role has been to bridge the gap between the user-centered design and business objectives to increase identify unknowns, test user feedback, and validate assumptions so that the product will effectively increase productivity for multiple stakeholders.
